Come to class on Monday!
On Monday, we have the state-mandated reading test. Please come to take it!
There isn't a good way to prepare for the test, but here are some of my favorite reading websites.
Voice of America: Learn English with the News
Listen and Read the stories from the California Distance Learning Project
.Culturegrams: Information about the world. Type fairfax in each box to get in. This is only for FCPS students. Click on a part of the world and then click listen to hear as well as read the information
This video gives good advice. I haven't thoroughly checked out the website yet, so I'm not recommending that you subscribe to it.
VOA plus Manythings
slow dialogs on ESLfast.com
Practice basic words with games (made for kids)
Practice sounding out words and phonics for basic words (made for kids)

Come to Class at Mason District Park!
Hi ESOL students!
Don’t
forget we’re going to a concert tonight at
Mason District Park at 6621 Columbia
Pike in Annandale.
I think we will talk
(in English) eat (whatever food we bring) and enjoy the music. It’s only a few miles away—close and
convenient. I hope it will be fun. If not,we’ll have more to talk about!!
If the weather gets bad, we'll have normal class at Plum Center. Either way, please come!!
